Heading to the Land of McCain

I'm leaving for Arizona in the morning for a few days of golf in the Valley of the Sun. Colin suggested I check out what John McCain's fellow Arizonians are saying about him and report back. My access to the internet may be limited while I'm out there but I'll see what I can find out.

News From Pundits

I've been thinking about how we get our news these days and the growing role of non news people in that process. I just got cable at my house a couple of months ago so cable news is still a novelty to me. Watching CNN and MSNBC last night, it was clear we get our news with a point of view now, although both seemed to be in Sarah Palin backlash mode last night.

There was an article in the Hartford Courant yesterday about pundits in the political coverage process, http://www.courant.com/entertainment/tv/hc-toomany.artsep16,0,2839138.story . So are we getting our news through a filter of Ann Coulter and Keith Olbermann now?

Obama Palin Election?

The Frank Rich op-ed piece in the NY Times, The Palin-Whatshisname Ticket, http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/14/opinion/14rich.html?em struck a note with me because I've been wondering how this election became the Obama Palin election rather than the Obama McCain election in the last week.
